April 1st & 2nd is a special global event run by Autism Speaks to raise awareness for autism spectrum disorders.
Landmarks across the world are floodlit in blue, including the Empire State Building in New York, Christ The Redeemer statue in Rio De Janeiro, Sydney Opera, Australia, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Mercedes Arena in Shanghai.
Individuals can also join in by wearing blue, changing their hallway light to a blue bulb, or releasing blue balloons.
